Stomach and Abdominal Pain
Have you ever experienced stomach pain and wondered what on earth was going on? Well, I would dare to say that this is an issue for most people. The real pain is in trying to play detective and trying to figure out exactly what is going on with your belly and causing the pain deep within.
Stomach pain can be a part of your daily life or it can come and go. There are chronic stomach and abdominal conditions that people learn to live with and then there are acute stomach conditions that require your immediate attention.
Stomach pain can be a result of something simple like constipation…and of course, if you have ever experienced this yucky stomach malady, it is one irritating tummy trouble that you will for ever remember. Keeping a well balanced, fiber filled, well hydrated diet can help you to prevent constipation.
Irritable bowel syndrome can also be a cause of abdominal and stomach pain. This chronic condition requires diligence and some trial and error in order to best manage its symptoms.
A stomach ulcer can also cause pain. And no, a stomach ulcer is not caused by too much stress. Another old wives tale.
Gastroesophageal reflux disease, or GERD, can also be an unbelievably bothersome cause of stomach pain. There are many who suffer with this condition and like many others, it takes your attention and determination to manage. It can make you feel as if you are enduring a heart attack. And many people rush to their physician complaining of chest pain when further testing reveal that it is actually GERD that is the culprit.
Stomach pain…yes, for many, it is a part of daily life, yet it doesn’t have to be a controlling factor in your life. Learning how to manage stomach pain can be accomplished, you simply have to be dedicated to the process.
